Environmental Farm Plan programming is available in all 10 provinces, plus the Yukon; with its history stretching back to the 1990s. The Northwest Territories are also in the process of developing an EFP program. Though delivery and content varies across the country, the general goal of EFP is the similar: to facilitate knowledge sharing about regulatory requirements and beneficial management practices (BMPs) to promote continuous environmental improvements at the farm level. EFP programs also seek to support farmers in producing safe products, while minimizing their environmental impacts and risks.
