Conflict in rural communities usually comes down to insufficient communication, says Jim Kiss, Farmers' Advocate for the Province of Alberta. One solution he suggests is a businesslike approach to communication. "Farming is business — most times very big business," says Kiss. "And business doesn't run without communication. Misunderstandings tend to decrease the more businesslike a situation is handled."
