Producers may have more money for on-farm environmental improvements than they think. This is because they can count their own labour and personal equipment use on approved projects towards their portion of the Canada-Alberta Farm Stewardship Program (CAFSP) cost-share funding arrangement.
CAFSP accepts labour contributions at $20/hr for the producer's own work on an approved project. Contribution values for equipment are set according to the custom rates established in the Alberta Farm Operations Cost Guide.
