Maximum nitrate content in drinking water

October 10, 2006:

High concentrations of nitrate in drinking water pose one of the greatest threats to human and animal health on a farm or ranch. The federal and provincial governments have set strict limits on the amount of nitrate that is safe in drinking water. The limit of nitrate for public health safety is 10 parts per million (10 ppm).
