EFP and CAP’s Efficient Grain Dryer Program

The Canadian Agricultural Partnership recently released the Efficient Grain Dryer Program that provides cost-share funding for producers to upgrade grain dryer components.

It is an energy efficiency program intended to assist producers with reducing the overall energy use on their operations. The program will only fund equipment that shows a significant energy efficiency improvement over standard practice.

A current Alberta Environmental Farm Plan (EFP) is a prerequisite for the program.

What is a current EFP?

An EFP completed within the last 10 years.

Where do I find my date of completion?

On your EFP Letter of Completion or EFP Certificate.

What if my EFP is no longer valid?

You can do your EFP online. Register here: https://webbook.albertaefp.com/register/

What is involved in renewing my EFP?

You complete the online workbook, using your old binder as a reference.

How long will it take to complete the online workbook?

It depends on the complexity of your operation. The first couple chapters take the longest because they set up the rest of the workbook.

Can I get help completing my workbook?

Yes, you will be paired with an EFP Technician who can help you through your online workbook. We recommend talking with your technician about chapters 1 & 2. You can also contact the ARECA office.

Do I have to complete my EFP before I can apply for the Efficient Grain Dryer Program?

No, but you will have to complete your EFP before you can receive the grant money.
